Our Commitment To Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. That's why we've spelled out our privacy policy here and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested. Read on to learn what choices you can make about the way personal information is collected and used.

The Information We Collect

This notice applies to all information you might pass to the BIA of Santa Barbara web site. On some pages, you can make donations, requests, and register to receive materials. The types of personal information collected at these pages can include your name, address, e-mail address, phone numbers, and credit/debit card information.

On some pages, you can submit information about other people. For example, if you send a gift on line on behalf of a friend or relative, you will need to submit that person's address. In this circumstance, the types of personal information collected include the recipient's name, address, and phone number.

The Way We Use Information

We use the information you provide about yourself when placing a donation only to complete that donation. We do not share this information with outside parties. We use the information you provide about someone else when placing a donation only to send them a "thank you" note. We do not share this information with outside parties.

We may offer gift-enclosure cards by which you may send a personalized message to the recipient of your gift. Information you provide to us to create a gift-card is only used for that purpose, and it is only disclosed to the person receiving the gift.

We use return e-mail addresses to answer the e-mail we receive. Such addresses are not shared with outside parties. We may occasionally e-mail service information to you using this e-mail address. If you do not wish to receive such contact, you may opt out by simply answering the e-mail with REMOVE typed in the body of the message.

You can register with our web site if you would like to receive updates on our services. We occasionally snail mail announcements to people who have contacted us in the past. You may receive these mailings even if you did not register for our e-mail list. We never sell, rent or share our visitors information with outside parties.

Our Commitment To Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect on line.

Secure Transactions (SSL)

Our donation form is on a secure server. Credit card information is encrypted from your browser and the order form using the industry standard of SSL 40 bit encryption. The form is then sent using PGP 1024 bit encryption to our account where it is decrypted, processed, and filed safely in our bank.
